As the cheerleader for and mouthpiece of the British Empire and its minions, the BBC now excels itself with this report on 'the Iran war from inside', following 'rare access' to a BBC reporter in Tehran. In the first part below the presenter frames the situation in terms of 'Israel's' and US alleged objectives of targeting IRGC and Basij militia centres, while passing quickly over Tehran's proportionate response:
Focusing on the alleged target of this latest Israeli strike, a Basij compound, the BBC examines satellite photos and locates them on the ground, showing that the serious destruction of residential buildings extends 65 metres from the target, killing and injuring numerous civilians. This is framed as an inevitable result of using MK-80 one tonne bombs, but 'israel's' claim it seeks to avoid any civilian casualties is presented as a partial justification for 'taking out a legitimate target'. The BBC fails to note that the israeli occupation forces in Palestine have dropped at least 200,000 tonnes of bombs on Gaza in their 2 1/2 year effort to obliterate it as a habitable place, while using the same excuse, and monstrous pretense that it tries to avoid civilian casualties. Being an apologist for the genocidal state of 'Israel' is not limited to presenting the joint israel-US-UK war on Iran as legitimate however. The reporter, Nawal Al Maghafi betrayed her bias and her own country, Yemen, by going on to allege that the strikes on the Basij militia and police buildings around Tehran were a legitimate reaction to Iran's 'brutal repression' in which 'over 7000 protesters were killed'. Watch closely from the 2.15 mark in this second segment of her report:
Note particularly the street scene below and the detail following, taken during the protest-riots of January 8-9th, where a man shoots wildly from the centre of the street:

Following Al Maghafi's report, the BBC reports on US and EU discussions on the situation, presenting the list of demands to end the conflict from both sides - the US-israel and Iran - which should make it clear to anyone paying attention that there can be no negotiation or agreement to 'end the war' or 'open' the Straits of Hormuz; the two sides are totally incompatible, with only one - Iran - making a legitimate and reasonable case, as the party under attack.
Iran of course holds the Trump card, while Trump has seen his go up in flames, as US bases throughout the region are rapidly becoming unusable. This fact, even though revealed by the NYT, and by the evident movement of US forces throughout the Gulf, seems to have evaded the BBC's reporters, as Iran's demand that the US presence in W Asia comes to an end is treated as almost ridiculous:
For an insight into this supposed deadlock in the (non)-negotiations, look no further than Alastair Crooke in discussion with Col. Daniel Davis. Crooke leaves no doubt about the power Iran has now to determine the outcome of the war and the future of the whole region, and this includes the expulsion of the US and the effective forcing of the supine Gulf states into changing sides and changing currencies. Whether the US accepts this or not doesn't change the inevitable outcome, or the deadline imposed by the blockage of the Straits - effectively holding all the powers to ransom if they don't accede to Tehran's requirements.
