On Tuesday the 26th of August, news broke of israel’s latest and most egregious war crime, targeting journalists, rescue workers and hospital staff outside Nasser hospital in Khan Younis. As the double-tap strike was recorded on live TV, there was no room for doubt about its intention, and global condemnation followed quickly behind details of the five journalists targeted by the israeli occupation forces. Despite this, israel’s snivelling leader tweeted a message of apology, saying that “Israel deeply regrets the tragic mishap that occurred today at Nasser Hospital in Gaza” - a monstrous claim soon contradicted by his own army, but eagerly repeated by all Australian media. Netanyahu compounded his lie on ‘X’ by stating that – “Israel values the work of journalists, medical staff and all civilians. The military authorities are conducting a thorough investigation.” After that ‘internal investigation’ discovered six ‘Hamas operatives’ whose names and pictures were shown on the screen, along with another israeli military stooge describing how Hamas ‘hid behind hospital staff and journalists’, Netanyahu simply forgot his previous statement, replacing it with a diatribe against the ‘monsters’ he vowed to destroy. Media didn’t hesitate to broadcast this reversal, without noting the change or questioning Netanyahu’s credibility. While news and discussion of this latest atrocity dominated global media, in Australia it took second place behind the day’s shock announcement -that the Iranian Ambassador was to be expelled. In what was apparently a strategic move to muzzle the growing outrage over the Zionist colony’s inhuman excesses, ASIO chief Mike Burgess fronted an emergency press conference to deliver a broadside against Iran on behalf of the State of israel. Apparently our conclusions six months ago that the firebombing of a couple of Jewish sites was likely a ‘set up’ by israeli intelligence agents was wrong; ASIO had found the attackers were hired by Iran! While it might have been worrying to discover that ASIO worked hand in hand with Mossad to spread lies and propaganda in israel’s interests – but not Australia’s – it was far more worrying to see how these scurrilous and preposterous claims against Iran were happily accepted as credible and worthy by almost all Australian media, politicians and commentators. Such was the success of the deception that SBS news was able to claim the following day that “the Government has received overwhelming community support for its move” (against the IRGC and Iranian government.) Whether this was ‘narrative control’ by SBS – knowing that public opinion is influenced by knowledge of what others think on an issue – or truly reflected public ignorance and hostility to Iran remains to be seen, but at this point there has been practically zero public discussion, or objection to the “first expulsion of a foreign ambassador since WW2”. While many thousands, likely millions of Australians horrified at the slaughter of innocents in Gaza are dying to see the israeli ambassador expelled and israel sanctioned, they have mostly avoided acknowledging or even admitting to themselves that israel’s greatest enemy is Iran, and partly because Iran is also the Palestinians’ greatest friend. Below is SBS' World News report from August 27th, noting the public reaction to the 'terrorist' listing along with that of the israelis, who now took credit for Australia's move just as they blamed Hamas 'influence' for the Government's advocacy for Palestinian rights. The report also includes comment from Kylie Moore Gilbert, cementing her position as agent-for-israel, and confirming the truth of Iran's allegations against her back in 2018, as detailed here, and here, on which more later. (and note the photo originally attached to the article in AHT leads this article)
Since writing those observations five days ago, there have been a small number of articles published in alternative media ( here, here here and here) which are sceptical of ASIO's move, though not necessarily supportive of the Iranian government. That scepticism naturally focuses on the lack of any stated evidence of Iranian involvement, and questions over what Iran had to gain from these rather trivial attacks, and why it would bother with them. All the authors of these articles point to the 'beam' of israeli crimes in comparison with the 'mote' of Iran's alleged and non-lethal crimes in Australia, while also noting that the synagogue targeted in Melbourne was of a non-Zionist or anti-Zionist persuasion. (this was noted at the time of the attack nine months ago, and suggested to impartial observers that agents for israel were behind it) However, on the other side of the ledger, the usual suspects have had their far more influential say published in the Guardian and the Sydney Morning Herald, as well as in Pearls and Irritations. The Guardian published a piece from the institutionally pro-israel Lowy Institute's Lydia Khalil, whose title is indicative: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/aug/28/iran-history-exploiting-social-divisions-abroad-saw-opportunity-in-australia-opinion-ntwnfb - while the SMH gave 'former Iranian hostage' Kylie Moore Gilbert a platform to further push her bigotry against the Iranian government which imprisoned her on suspicion of spying for israel for two years, before israel agreed to return two Iranians held in Thailand, so that KMG could do their dirty work in Australia: https://www.smh.com.au/national/when-i-was-jailed-in-iran-the-interrogator-showed-me-a-list-of-australian-sites-and-began-asking-questions-20250825-p5mpq0.html Both of these articles are full of toxic disinformation tailored to suit the requirements of the Zionist state and its faithful puppet state Australia. No sensible analyst could take them seriously, nor avoid this conclusion. But worse is what they reveal about the direction ASIO and the government intend taking us, as both Khalil and Moore Gilbert work closely with the government and state media, SBS and the ABC. This collaboration is also evident in this video story from ABC investigator Matt Bevan - who gained prominence for a series of podcasts attacking 'Putin's Russia', called 'Russia if you're listening'. Russia of course was not listening to Bevan's carefully constructed narrative, but many were - as they will listen to and believe his latest disinformation on Iran. Equally concerning perhaps is a recent article - also published in P&I - which endorses most of the arguments and positions of the other articles cited above, yet somehow makes the case in support of ASIO's false claims. Retired civil servant Paddy Gourley reveals his position early in the piece with this statement: "The discovery and the expulsion have been wildly well received and citizens should be pleased about reasonable steps to fight back against and deter antisemitism." Despite his sensible arguments questioning Iran's responsibility for the 'antisemitic' attacks, and delving into Iran's history of persecution by the Western powers, the author finally concludes - quite falsely - that Iran's inability to respond militarily to israel's assaults forces it to target Jewish interests everywhere, and even in Australia. Perhaps Patrick Gourley doesn't follow non-mainstream media and its plethora of well-informed and anti-Western analysts, but it is now well known that Tehran's response to the unprovoked and violent israeli assault in June nearly crippled the israeli state, forcing Netanyahu to call Trump and push for a ceasefire. Gourley also has some significant details missing in his analysis, most notably failing to mention the single most significant crime committed against Iran - the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, revered leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, on January 2nd 2020. The missile strike on his vehicle close to Baghdad airport - which also killed Iraqi resistance leader Abu Mahdi Al Muhandis - was reportedly launched by israeli forces from a US base in Iraq. Gourley also refers to (Iran's) 'savage war with Saddam Hussein's Iraq', when it was actually Iraq's US-backed war on Iran, in which Iran lost 800,000 soldiers fighting to defend their country; Qassem Soleimani earned the respect of his countrymen in that terrible war, and in the defeat of Iraq's invasion. It's appropriate to post a photo of these two resistance leaders alongside the third - Sayed Hassan Nasrallah - who was also killed by israel on September 27th 2024. That's because these three men led the fight against the invaders of Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, whether US forces, their proxy militias or 'ISIS' takfiri terrorists. Had the US coalition really been trying to defeat and kill the terrorist hordes, then Muhandis and Soleimani would have been their allies - but of course they weren't.

But to return to the central point of this review - having established beyond any reasonable doubt that Iran has been falsely framed by israel as a threat to Australia - the question posed is 'to what end?'. And there can be little doubt that this end is ensuring Australia's support and solidarity in a war on Iran, not just from the Australian government but from the people in general. It has surely been noted by the conspirators in this game that public opposition to israel's war of genocide in Gaza does not imply support for israel's chief enemy and main threat to the success of its colonial project - Iran. Moreover, the vast majority of those people who have a negative opinion on Iran also have a negative opinion on Russia, so a war on both countries supported by Australia will likely receive wide public support in principle. False public opinion about Iran, focused largely on the issue of women's rights and the veil, can only persist in the absence of actual real information about Iran - which now sees its population more united than ever following israel's murderous attacks. Most will be unaware of significant social changes in Iranian society, which pull the rug from under the whole 'Women, Life, Freedom' movement. It appears that women have stopped worrying too much about covering their hair, finding that there is 'safety in numbers', and that the freedom to choose how you behave in public is becoming acceptable. The stories of the 'morality police' were always a bit overblown, and now there are far more important matters to focus on. Below is a short video from a recent travel blog, in an Iranian market, with a slightly over-the-top commentary but an informative one, and a second video of a walk through Tehran Metro. This is particularly interesting given the story in our media about a girl being 'beaten by security' for not wearing her hijab when entering the metro; the story was false, as the girl fainted and fell out of the train, but only the false story had traction. The BBC has a long record of false reporting on Iran, so the story needs to be read carefully. Also this story happened on October 4th 2023, as if to prime the anti-Iranian collective to react to israel's October 7th attacks.
