The Last Shot at President Trump

Ashli Babbitt at the Washington Rally
This detail of the assassination attempt is clearly of crucial importance, and provides substantial visual evidence. While the failure of numbers of public to alert attention to the shooter on the roof is powerful corroborating testimony it can't be proven. Similarly the claims that no snipers were posted on that roof as it was 'too sloping' is preposterous but not verifiably false.

Fortunately the video recording that shows two snipers on a roof beyond Donald Trump on the platform provides definitive evidence of what exactly took place and when. The video extract below is the original, including the soundtrack, while the following one is from an Australian TV news bulletin with an interesting commentary:

While the second video repeats the sequence several times, the critical two or three seconds benefit from close scrutiny to determine the exact moment the sniper reacts to the sound and shoots to kill the assassin. A slowed up sequence of these three seconds makes it clear:

A frame from this video shows that the sniper puts his eye to the scope and fires just a moment before Trump’s hand rises up to touch his wounded ear; the sniper is reacting to the sight and sound of the shooter without having seen where the bullet hit, or knowing that it missed the evident target. Whether he knew why he wasn’t to open fire seems doubtful, but by doing so may have spoilt the plan to kill Trump with a second concealed sniper.

As the consequences of the - failed - assassination plot play out in the following days, with the Republican Convention completely rewritten as a result, there is relative mayhem in Europe as the prospect of a Trump presidency threatens the whole NATO-Ukraine project.

This crisis was today illustrated by the gathering of European and NATO leaders at Blenheim Palace for a meeting of the new post-Brexit European Political Community, where Vladimir Zelensky was guest of honour - before being afforded the special privilege of attending a meeting of the new UK cabinet at No 10 Downing Street. New PM Keir Starmer cemented the ugly marriage of the UK and UKraine with a lifetime pledge of honour - 'as long as it takes' - which may not be very long at all, depending on one's definition of the goal. The confirmation seems unlikely to wait until Donald J Trump ascends to the throne of American Duty on November 5th - a fitting date for such a conflagration!
