If one thing can be said about Iran's commitment to the terms of its MoU - the same terms as were presented at the start of 'negotiations' in the '10-point plan' - it must be that the Palestinian cause lies at the heart of that commitment, and that of the Resistance.
Because the current proposals, provisionally accepted by Donald Trump - under considerable duress - focus on stopping the Zionists' invasion and killing spree in Lebanon, the question of Gaza has taken a back seat for the time-being, despite the continuing barbarities daily inflicted on the poor and suffering population.
Unlike some, who now attack Iran for supposedly ignoring the Palestinian struggle, I'm drawing attention to it in this post after hearing this story and its accompanying video, a still from which illustrates it.
According to the residents of Al Tuffah neighbourhood near to the Yellow Line, reported by Mohamed Ahmed and Abdel Qader Sabbah and Drop Site News:
GAZA CITY—Mustafa Al-Shawa awoke at 2:30 a.m. on Monday to the sound of gunfire and the rumble of tanks in Al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City. When he was finally able to go outside a few hours later, he found two yellow concrete blocks placed in the middle of the street—the Israeli military had moved them at least one hundred meters further west into Gaza where they now lay close to his home.

The accompanying story reveals a far worse situation than even local reports portray on the torment being suffered by the residents and the sadistic and menacing presence of israeli forces from their massive new bases inside Gaza, illustrated in a second video in the article. What this also reminds us however is that Iran cannot be blamed for 'failing to act' to help Gaza throw off the occupiers, when the whole constellation of Western hand-wringers do nothing more than issue condemnatory statements, even as they fail to cut ties with the entity and continue to actively collaborate with it. This vacuity and failure is exemplified by a statement from the UN Secretary General:
“Despite the ceasefire announced eight months ago, Gaza still faces profound uncertainty and immense human suffering,”
- UN Secretary-General António Guterres said in remarks to the Security Council last week -
“Violence is on the rise, with civilians killed on a daily basis. Humanitarian operations remain heavily constrained. Basic human needs—for clean water, sanitation, food, shelter, health care, and more—are going unmet. And the Israeli Government is declaring its intent to control 70% of the Strip.”
Let's just edit this statement and put blame where it lies:
"Despite the 'ceasefire' announced eight months ago, 'Israel' continues to cause immense suffering to the people of Gaza, with no sign of respite.
'Israel' kills civilians on a daily basis in increasingly barbaric ways. Humanitarian operations are constantly prevented by 'Israel', depriving the desperate population from the most basic human needs. And 'Israel's' Western allies consistently fail to restrain the rogue state or even denounce its blatantly illegal and criminal actions."'ISRAEL' is the problem.
